Mumzy Stranger not only has a rope of single successes but his only album entitled \u2018Journey Begins\u2019 which surfaced on 12.12.10 left the fans hypnotised by its originality. Tracks like \u2018Spaceman\u2019 that feature Wiley the Godfather of Grime were religiously played across radio stations all over the UK. The album has been one of the biggest successes to date for Mumzy Stranger as it reached Number 4 on the official iTunes Hip Hop album chart. After releasing such an epic piece Mumzy felt he needed to do more for his fans so he went on to perform a live concert for the first time ever showcasing his talents to huge crowds in Stratford Circus at the heart of home town in East London.<\/p>\n

Mumzy\u2019s eclectic sound is the result of a childhood spent soaking up the huge range of music being played at home via three older brothers. It wasn\u2019t long before Mumzy made his first tentative steps towards developing his own style. \u2018When I heard something I\u2019d just copy it. It could be the riffs on a movie soundtrack or verses from dancehall artists like Buju Banton and Shabba Ranx.\u2019 Eventually, imitation gave way to creation and Mumzy began to pen his own bars. \u2018Slowly I started writing raps. This was 2001 and I was heavily influenced by garage music, because most of my friends were making it.\u2019<\/p>\n

Living in the hub of the flourishing urban music scene, Mumzy in he\u2019s early days began MCing alongside More Fire Crew and N.A.S.T.Y. Crew at the infamous garage raves of the era. Mumzy Stranger now a Business graduate from the University of Westminster embraces each chapter of his musical life in the most positive way possible undertaking anything thrown at him. The urban star holding a strong international fan-base has performed alongside the likes of superstars Jay Sean, Skepta and Chipmunk to performing with artists Aggro Santos, Loick Essien and Griminal.<\/p>\n

His success has led to him winning the Best Urban Act Award at the UK AMAS and the Best British Asian Urban Act at the 2010 BritAsia awards. The rising star has also lent his vocals to the likes of ex-Eastenders actress & singer Preeya Kalidas and many more. As Mumzy continues to work on developing his career further, he balances on the cusp of mainstream stardom.
